Monthly Meetings 2009 - 2010 Programming for this Year - This year should bring a fun and varied assortment of exciting programs for the contemporary/traditional/art quilter in all of us. While some of the speakers may initially seem more oriented towards one style of quilting than another we have tried to choose programs that should offer insights and new ideas for everyone from color to using up your scraps, to quilt design, creativity, and, well, you get the picture. A new initiative is to use the Brown Bags as a natural extension of the primary speaker’s presentation. For example, George Sciliano (November) is a renowned paper piecer. While his program is not on this method of construction, we are offering a brown bag afterwards with that as the main topic. When this goes to press we are still in final negotiations a surprise speaker and workshop that should thrill and delight many of you..more on that when we have hopefully secured this marvelous teacher. Most of all, we want these program to be fun for all of us. If you would like to see more or less of a particular style, topic, or program type (lecture, workshop etc.) or you have an idea for a speaker please let Marina Baudoin or Debbie Lamb-Mechanick know – we really want to hear from you. |
