QUILTPINK

Quiltpink is a project to bring together quilters from all over the United States to raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.  If you'd like to participate in Quiltpink, just make a pink and white quilt square and drop it off at a participating fabric shop during September 21-23, 2007.  In addition to collecting squares, many shops have scheduled a Quiltpink Day for quilters to assemble donated squares into quilts.  These quilts will be sold in an online auction in 2008, and the net proceeds donated to Susan G. for the Cure to fund breast cancer research and community outreach programs.

Many NeedleChasers have made squares for this project.  In addition, in 2006 one group of intrepid NeedleChasers not only made squares, but assembled them into a quilt, which will be donated to Quiltpink.  This quilt appears at left, and a small sample of NeedleChasers' Quiltpink squares is reproduced below.

Quiltpink is sponsored by Better Homes and Gardens American Patchwork and Quilting© magazine.  For more information about Quiltpink, just go to the Quiltpink web site.

Washington area fabric stores participating in Quiltpink include Patches Quilting & Sewing and The Quilt Patch.  To learn about the specific activities these stores have scheduled to support Quiltpink, visit their websites.
